we had a really nice evening last night with the Velikonias over for dinner and the Wions stopping in to give James their love before going to surgery. I am blessed by those two amazing families who love our Lord, and His love that shines through them so radiently. James was able to play with his bestie, Jordan Bella.. and then the Wion girls, Elizabeth and Rebecca.. and the Wions brought him a new Elmo movie and some little books and gave us some food and spending money for when we're in Sac this weekend. They bless us, above and beyond!

My mom and dad are coming down on Saturday to visit us, and my mom just told me that Lyndsey might come, too. I'm so glad that they are going to be able to do this, because it will break up the monotony, and it will make James really happy!

I've been pretty busy preparing to leave - making sure there's no trash, dishes, or laundry waiting for us for when we get back.. and getting rid of leftovers in the fridge that would have just been sitting there rotting... and packing... this morning was a bit challenging because i had a coffee maker incident.. it's a long story but basically i ended up with coffee all over the counter, and had to scurb the grout with bleach to keep it from staining.. and it was running down the bottom cabinets and stuff... sigh...

but this afternoon i got a break when Lora Gale came to watch James for me while i ran some last minute errands in chico... i took our laptop in for some work because it's been running horribly for several weeks now, and now it won't even boot up... we won't miss it this weekend since we'll be away from home.. i will try to update our blog from the hospital somehow, but i don't know if "the sharing place" has internet access the way that the ronald mcdonald house does...we are used to staying at the ronald mcdonald house, but they didn't have openings, so we will be at the sharing place at the hospital instead...

a lot of people have been calling and emailing and visiting and telling us how much they will be thinking about and praying for us this weekend. i am thankful for that, even though i haven't been able to get back to everyone to thank them personally...
