The vomit has been about the same since surgery. i don't think that removing the cyst caused any changes at all in that area. It seems that it has made James stronger in other ways, but that is another blog.... anyway, since he is still throwing up quite a bit, we have recently adopted an attitude that, if you're going to throw it up either way, kid, then you might as well eat whatever we are eating...
So every night when we try to figure out what James should eat for dinner, we're like, well, kid, you had chicken nuggets for lunch already today (EVERY DAY) so you can't have that again.... is there ANYTHING new and different that you might keep down? Seth and I usually have our own ideas, but we kind of look at each other like, if you're going to give him THAT, you better be ready to give him a bath....
So, last night we were having hamburgers for dinner... my mom had given him a hotdog for dinner at her house a couple of nights ago, and he ate it and kept it down! (she is braver than us because she doesn't clean up barf on a daily basis! haha) So, Seth and I looked at each other like, hmm, we could try a hamburger, but who's going to give him a bath after he throws it up?
Seth cut a slice of hamburger into a hotdog-shaped stick and put it on half a bun with lots of katsup and mayo. He ate it and kept it down! We kept looking at each other like What the Heck?
So this morning I woke up at 7:30am to the sound of gagging coming from James' room. I thought for sure that there were hamburger chunks being vomited all over the big boy bed, but when I flew out of bed and went in there to face my doom, it was just a little bit... not chunky at all...didn't look like hamburger...just a puddle of watery looking stuff on his quilt.... so I'm washing it right now, James has already had his bath for the day, and it's only 8:18am.
But the point is that IN THE LAST WEEK HE HAS EATEN A HOTDOG AND A HAMBURGER AND HE HAS KEPT THEM BOTH DOWN! Woo, James! Party time :)
