Roseville + Life Insurance + Reunion = Diet

I went to Roseville this weekend with my mom, lynds, and baby joey (josiah's nickname, according to aunt lynds)... we shopped till we dropped, got massages, and just had some much needed "girl time."

Every time i go out of town on vacation, it's like the "reset" button is hit in my brain. i get a sort of amnesia about all the things that were milling around in my head prior to the trip, and i come home refreshed and clear-headed, and on a new page. i am glad to face a new week this way...

It was a fun trip, but it was 106 degrees on Saturday 108 degrees today in Roseville, and that is REALLY REALLY hot!!

On Thursday Seth and I were talking about life insurance, and how we really need to get a 30 year term to replace our 10 year one that we have - especially since almost 4 of the 10 years have already QUICKLY passed...

But... it's really a good idea to be "in shape" and healthy when you get life insurance, so that you can get the best rate. Otherwise you waste a fortune.

Then, on the trip, while trying on a profane amount of clothes in just one weekend, we all three realized that clothes shopping would be a lot more fun if we actually fit into the clothes!

And it's summer, so of course i was trying to do the dreaded bathing suit shopping... oh, joy!

Then tonight I checked facebook (a confession of my sin) - and found out that my 10 year high school reunion is going to be August 22nd.

So I'm sure you've figured out where I am going with all of this... a new baby, bathing suit season, a high school reunion, and a new life insurance plan.... it all calls for a major overhaul of my eating and exercise habits...

I have these exercise VHS tapes - thankfully NOT Richard Simmons (or anyone 80s for that matter) - that I could probably stand to do at least 2 mornings a week with James. I tried a couple of them last week in my room. I look like a TOTAL dork, but it's ok because it's just my kids watching me.... hahah... Josiah has no idea what's going on, and James sits on my bed and tries to do some of the exercises, too! hahaha! He likes it, and actually ASKS for "the exercise one" when he's thinking of a movie to watch!

I also made a list of cholesterol lowering foods and other healthy foods that i could buy - cuz last time i got my health test for our current life insurance plan, i didn't get the premium health - i got the second best... because my cholesterol was a little high.

So, between the semi-funny but not too 80s exercise videos and a solid plan for grocery shopping, i am HOPING that i can lose about 5-10 pounds and lower my cholesterol before the reunion and the life insurance test, which are both coming up in about 6-8 weeks or so.......

so pray for me when you think of me, that i would have the will to do it! i NEVER diet, so this is going to be....um.......interesting :)
