James' g-tube surgery

Seth is down in Sac with James right now for the g-tube surgery. James had surgery this morning, and it went well. When I talked to Seth about an hour ago, James was sleeping. Unfortunately, he will have to stay in the hosptial until Monday. I guess they want to make sure it is working correctly, and they want to give three full night feedings through it before he can come home. We are trying to talk the doctor out of this. Seth is going to let him know that James has a home nurse who is familiar with g-tubes... so we will see. If he does have to stay, then Caleb and I are going to be spending Sunday night in the hospital with James so that Seth can go to work on Monday. It will all be worth it in the end, though. I am more and more convinced every day that this is exactly what James needs!

James has been crawling again the last couple of days!! It is discouraging that as soon as he starts making progress, something comes up that creates a setback. He won't be able to try crawling now for several weeks while the g-tube spot heals up. I guess there's an external tube thing for now, and they will put a "button" in in about six weeks.

More to come.....
