Christmas Party and What I Made...

Friends Christmas turned out to be so beautiful and so fun!! We actually ended up spending most of the evening on our back patio, which was a sweet surprise having nice enough weather for that in early December!!! The Cornish hens were a big hit, and turned out great! We were nervous about cooking 19 hens in one afternoon, keeping all of them warm, and not drying them out!

There were some pretty funny white elephant gifts, and "Howard" the white elephant (literally) made his appearance for like the 5th year in a row, or something like that! Hahaha!!

Seth and I realized that we definitely took on more than we should have with this party, though! We learned a lot, so if we do it again next year, we will hopefully be able to get the planning and preparation to go much smoother! My friend Jess P. came over a couple of hours early though, which was a HUGE blessing!

James being so sick didn't help the stress level around here either.... and now I also have a fever and have been in bed the last two days! SIGH....

I have one AMAZING husband. Yesterday he spent the WHOLE day cleaning up from the party and then doing dishes and laundry for me while I laid in bed sick, sick, sick!!! And this evening, after working all day, he came home, made dinner, took care of me, and took Josiah with him in his truck to return all of the stuff we had borrowed from other people for the party!

This is when I'm really really thankful for all his ENERGY!

And that he is just a total servant.

Anyway, here are some pictures (oh, and yes, I changed my dress half-way through the party because I spilled some salad dressing on the first one!)

A while back I posted that I was working on some handmade Christmas gifts. Well, I gave them to my three lovelies (Lyndsey, Jessica, and Carla) at the party, so now I can post pictures! Last year I searched for some cupcake ornaments to buy for us girls who were closest to Carrisa, so that we would all have a small symbol on our tree to remember her by. I found this one, which totally fit her, because she loved cupcakes and shoes.. but after shipping, they would have been about $17 each, so I decided against it.

This year, I thought that if I could find a no sew project, maybe I could make them myself. I found some ideas, which all pretty much required sewing, but I improvised and used a hot glue gun instead, and they turned out SO cute!!!

SO fun friend!!! You're always the creative! What a beautiful party! :)

I have a quick question and don't have your email so sorry I'm asking it here... But how do you get your pictures on your blog to be BIG like that. The ones on my blog right now are as big as I can get them... Could use any wisdom you've got friend! :)
