New Life

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.

The old has passed away; behold, the new has come!

2 Corinthians 5:17

A caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly is an awesome visual picture of resurrection and new life. This Easter, why not take advantage of this amazing natural wonder that God has given us, and use it to help teach your kids about how...

-When He was in the tomb, people thought He was gone  forever... but then He emerged, more glorious than ever!

-God can take our ugly hearts and make us into people who bear His glory! Beauty for ashes!

-This life on earth is not all there is (thank GOD!)... For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 1 Thessalonians 4:14

Some glad morning, when this life is over, I'll fly away!!!!

Doing a butterfly garden at home is easy (and inexpensive)! We did it last year, and we're going to do it again this year, maybe even twice in a row this time! Buy a kit at amazon (best price) - either a butterfly garden (3-5 caterpillars) or butterfly pavilion (6-10 caterpillars) by insect lore. Order your live caterpillars using the code provided in your kit (it costs $5 more dollars for shipping). Follow the instructions (easy). Watch the caterpillars make their chrysalis' and turn into butterflies right before your eyes (it is so, so neat!!). Order them now, and you might just be able to let them free in your back yard by Easter!

You can also read butterfly books during this time, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and My, Oh My - a Butterfly!

Pair this butterfly theme with other activities, such as resurrection eggs and resurrection rolls, and your kids will likely start getting the idea about what resurrection is all about! And you'll be reminded, too!!

 His life for ours!

Our life for His!

Ah, the crazy-glorious-beauty of it all!!!
