Blessed

It has been fun being a home-owner so far! Of course, we haven't made our first payment yet, and the house is too thrashed to move in just yet, so I guess you should ask me again in a few months.. haha..

A year ago I was convinced that it was pretty much impossible for us to become home-owners on just one income. Seth and I have always dreamed of a certian lifestyle where the mommy (me) is able to stay at home and raise the kids and make our home full of love and warmth and hospitality. We wanted to stick to this, even with all of its sacrifices. The price paid by a working mom is higher, in my opinion..

In our society, it seems like living on one income is becoming more and more difficult. The Lord has blessed us beyond our dreams. I have gotten into photography as a hobby, and taken a few jobs photographing weddings, which has provided some extra income for house projects, an emergency fund, and stuff like that. Seth has consistant work at least through the end of this year, building a million dollar home in Chico for the contractor that he did his journeymanship with. We moved into this rental about 6 months ago, and loved it. After our last experience with trying to purchase a home, we had stopped looking all together, and that is when this deal fell into our laps! It always seems to go that way... after we stop striving and pushing our own agenda, there is room for God to show us His perfect way.

We really got a GREAT deal on this house, and we are having fun fixing it up even though it is exausting work. Seth has been working 9 hour days at his regular job (doing things like digging ditches and other extremely laborous work), and then coming up to Paradise to our new house and working like 4 or 5 more hours every night! He is AMAZING. I seriously don't know how he does it!

I can't wait to move in in May. We are sooooooooooooo blessed.
