Just tried Starbucks' fruit, nut and cheese plate. YUM. Between that and the sweetened brewed green tea I had for lunch, I think my body is going to be thanking me :)
Josiah's sleeping in the back of the van right now, and I am sitting in the van, too, of course, outside Starbucks, stealing their free wifi (can you steal free things?) anyway - just waiting for him to wake up so I can run some Chico errands before picking James up from playcare.
He went to school today. I have not heard from the teacher, school nurse, or playcare nurses -- so I'm assuming that no news is good news.. I spent the morning on the phone with doctors again. Looks like I am going to have to make a pit stop in Sacramento on the way to SB clinic on Friday to pick up a CD of James' last MRI that was done in March this year. That way the neuro-surgeon at clinic will have a baseline to work from. Also, Becky Wion is going to come with us. It will be nice to have the company, and the extra pair of hands :) My mom will have Josiah that day.
We did meet Teryn and Daniel and kids in Yuba City, but found out when we got there that the awesome water park is now closed for the season. BUMMER. I filled my van - every seat full - with friends who were there to help me with my two little loves, and I'm sure glad I had the help, because they were a handful!! Josiah cried the entire way down to Yuba City -- too many people in the car "entertaining" him by just sitting there -- he couldn't possibly give it up and fall asleep, because he must have thought he might miss out on something important... stinker... James was somewhat lethargic and not himself most of the morning yesterday, but did perk up once we found another park with water that sprays from the ground. He didn't really crawl around though. Just sat there in the water, watching the other kids.
It was good to see Teryn, brief as may have been :( She commented how it would be nice if we just lived near each other and could do this more often.
Last night James woke several times in the night again, saying that he had a bad dream. One time I asked him what it was about, and he said, "dinosaurs" -- I said, "were they bad dinosaurs?" and he said, "yes" -- not sure what that came from, except that the spray park we went to yesterday had a dragon that sprayed water out his mouth, and James did seem a little hesitant about it. HAHA -- shouldn't laugh.. poor baby.
I couldn't tell if there was pain when he woke in the night last night. I asked him if he was hurting, and he said no. So I guess I just have to take him at his word...
Pray for me this week as I prepare for our trip to San Diego next week, and as Seth and I think and pray about whether we should even go on the trip... and as I take James to clinic Friday, and my period is due this Sunday, and I tend to fall apart right before it is due.
sigh.
I took lots of pictures and video of the kids at the spray park yesterday. I will try to post them. Someday. haha. :)
