As the snow falls peacefully outside right now, I sit here thankful for the peace that filled our home today. I had a quiet day at home with my kids. Then Seth and I pulled out the camping pads again, threw them on the new cushy rug in the living room, made popcorn and watched movies, and fell asleep in the living room well before midnight. The sound of the neighborhood rejoicing to ring in the new year woke me up, but I didn't mind. It made me happy. And it gave me a chance to grab some MORE orange juice (I've been addicted lately), and to look outside... SNOW!! That will be fun for the kids in the morning. I can't wait to see their excited faces!
I can tell people have been praying for us. Thank you if that was you.
Last year at this time, James was the strongest he has ever been in his life. He had never had chronic pain, and the only thing I really expected for the future was progress. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless. I had NO idea what was in store.
A lot of things happened this year that I was SO not expecting. Like the fact that I'm expecting! Haha!! But that is one of those extreme joys in the midst of a world of sorrow. A life inside of me! Another child who, I trust, we will soon have and love! Thank you, Jesus!!
The highlight of 2010 BY FAR is that The Lord brought healing to us in the vomit department! James is still very sensitive about eating, has major food aversions, an extremely limited diet, and gags a lot, but he barely ever throws up anymore. I am one THANKFUL momma for that!
Another highlight is that we built the patio this year, which has been SO nice for Josiah, was built just in time to make some great memories with James, and will continue to be wonderful this spring and summer.
I pulled off some GREAT parties this year, with my wine and cheese clothing exchange birthday party in March, James' ocean party in April, and Josiah's first birthday cute-as-a-button bash in May.
We had a lot of great times with James before he lost function. We went to the aquarium, the zoo, the silver dollar fair, table mountain, he went to another aquarium and had a memorable summer trip in Monterey with my parents, we played outside in the sprinklers on the patio a LOT, and went to the fountain in Chico a lot, and the Tatros came for a visit around easter time again this year, just to name a few...
