would you believe....

... that on the eve of a highly anticipated visit with a best friend who I haven't seen in over a year, James has been admitted to the hospital? Yep, it's true. Are you surprised? I'm not.

And I shouldn't be... I won't go into all the reasons WHY I shouldn't be surprised... if you know us at all, you know..

This morning when he woke up with a fever of 102, I became  a raging alcoholic  pissed off  angry  - uh, let's just say... a little upset.

He's been battling the same UTI for over a month. He just started the third round of antibiotics for the same UTI yesterday. We tried to get an appointment with his pediatrician, but the first available one was at 4:30pm. When his fever didn't respond to motrin, and climbed to 104 by noon, we decided to just call 911 and get an ambulance. He spent the next 5 hours in the ER, and was admitted to Feather River at about 5pm tonight. Seth is going to spend the night there with him, and my mom has Josiah. Caleb and I are home alone tonight. In the morning, we will still go get Teryn from the airport.

In His sufficient grace, The Lord has blessed me with two parents, and one husband, who are exceptionally amazing. And my circumstances never fail to amplify their amazingness... often enough that I don't think I'll ever have a chance to forget it or take them for granted!!! Ha!

When Caleb and I left the hospital at about 5:30 tonight, James' fever had come down to 99, and he was feeling much better. He will be on IV fluids and three different antibiotics (two by IV) for at least the next 24 hours, which is good. We need to kill this dang UTI for good!

Pray for Seth. He has been working waaaay too long hours to make ends meet... He has a lot on his mind... and he has had to take on a bulk of James' care for me, since I have a newborn that I am nursing. I worry about that man. He is a strong man, but even strong men need a break once in a while!!!
