Both kids are sleeping right now, so I am taking the opportunity to rest and update the blog.
James had a great day at school today. I had the IEP this morning, and it went well. He is going to stay in the "Turtle Room" - and they are going to get him a bean bag so that he can be out of his wheel chair to read books, play with other kids, and hold the new class pet, a guinea pig named Mocha (same name as uncle lance's doggie!) - He didn't ride the bus, though, or go to playcare -- I hung out in Chico, and just picked him up after school and brought him home..
Monday will be a holiday from school (for labor day), but starting on Wednesday next week, James will be back to his normal schedule, where he goes to school on M/W/F from 8:10am-12:15pm, and then rides the bus to playcare, and stays there until daddy picks him up after work. As long as he does ok, we will stick with that schedule. He will be home with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and hopefully soon I will have a nurse in the mornings on those days. Next week, Becky is going to come help me on Tues and Thurs mornings. Thursday next week James has a follow-up appointment with the pediatrician (routine after a hospital stay) -- and they will check his UTI and make sure it's completely gone.
On September 16th and 17th, Josiah will stay with my mom while James and I go back down to San Francisco for another MRI and Spina Bifida clinic. My prayer is that the neuro-surgeons will be able to discuss James' case with Dr. Ciricillo by the time we go down for that MRI, and that they might have a more definitive plan in mind for his future care -- like whether or not they are going to offer us a surgical intervention.

Josiah started his KinderMusik class today. My mom brought him, since I was in the IEP. She said that he wasn't shy at all, and he seemed to really enjoy it. I am so happy for him that he gets to have something fun in his life, that is all about him, and not about his brother and his health. It's a 10 week class. My mom will have to take him to the Sept. 17th class for me, too, since James and I will be in SF -- I am determined for him to make it to every single class, LORD WILLING. I can't wait to watch him enjoy KinderMusik next Friday :)

I am definitely feeling the pregnancy. There is no mistaking these early symptoms -- a dull headache in the back of my neck, overall queasiness, extreme exhaustion.... James and I were talking about the baby when I laid down with him for his nap today. I explained how God put James in mommy's tummy, and mommy rested a lot, and ate lots of healthy foods, and then he grew and grew, and then it was time to go to the hospital and the doctor took him out of mommy's tummy, and we took him home to live with us. He said he didn't remember that. HAHA! Then I told him how God put another baby in mommy's tummy a couple of years later... and he interrupted to say, "that was Josiah!" and I said, "yes, you're right, that WAS Josiah!!" -- and we talked about how mommy rested a lot and ate lots of healthy foods, and Josiah grew and grew, and then it was time to go to the hospital to have the baby, and Josiah came out of mommy's tummy, and he got to come home and live with us. I reminded him about when Great Grams brought him to the hospital to meet his baby brother. He said, "now there's another baby in your tummy" -- and I said that I will need to rest a lot, and eat lots of healthy foods, and that this baby will grow and grow, and then after James has a 5th birthday party, it will be time to go to the hospital again to have the baby--
and James asked, "will the baby stay here with us?" and I said, "Yes!" and then he said, "will Josiah still live with us?" and I said, "Yes, he will have to be a big boy like you and sleep in your trundle bed, because the baby will need his crib" and he said, "Ok, when the baby is born, you can put Josiah in my trundle bed!"
Then we counted the people in our family - 1.Daddy, 2.Mommy, 3.James, 4.Josiah, and 5.Baby!
And I said, "the baby might need the movie room. we might need to put the crib in there, and there will be no more movie room." and he said, "no, mommy, grandma sue needs the movie room!" and i said that grandma sue might need to sleep in the movie room with the baby when she visits us!!
Wow! No more guest room.. We are filling all the rooms in the house!!! YIKES!!
