I do blog from the hospital quite often. I have more time to sit and write when we are here, and my mom is chasing around the toddler for me! Well, I guess he's more like a two-year-old than a toddler, but let's not rush things... we have a few more months of the "ones" ...
We had a great day today. James got out of his bed for the first time since being admitted on Monday, and I held him for a while. He hates to be moved, and gets really, really nervous about his head control (or lack thereof), and so he was really tired after that whole ordeal, and took a nice nap. When he woke up, his back and legs were really stiff, so Carla gave him a massage and stretched out his legs for him. He kicked, and they counted the kicks together. It was very cute, and I think made him feel better, too.
Yuridia drove out to see us (she lives a little less than an hour from SF), and her and Carla and I had some good discussions. I'm glad she made the effort to come visit. Carla and Yuridia went out to dinner together at CrepeVine - a yummy restaurant near the hospital - and brought me back some delicious food from there for dinner. Sweet friends, I tell you!
James got to skype with grandma, grandpa, uncle lance, and Josiah tonight, and they played "the guessing game," sang songs, and Josiah said, "bruh-ber," for James and danced for him, and kissed him. SO cute! Josiah's hair looks long to me. My mom said she might take him to get a haircut. That's good, because by the time we are home and recovered well, and I catch my bearings, he's gonna be lookin' like a little girl (a cute one, but a GIRL nonetheless) --- so if my mom gets that out of the way, that will be nice.
I finally met the other Paradise family that is here. The daughter had surgery for Chiari Malformation - performed by Dr. Gupta, James' neuro-surgeon! They are one room over from us, just across the nurses' walkway... like 12 feet away! And they've been there since Wednesday. We just figured that out today.... Anyway, it is great because they also love the Lord, and we are able to support each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, even though we had never met until today!
Seth will be back tomorrow. I am glad. I hope our second week here goes as well as the first!
Thank you so much for continuing to pray for us!
