Update 1/8/2011

Unfortunately, James got a fever of 101 this morning, and then it went down to 100, and then went away. Not sure what that was all about, but they did take some urine, blood, and CSF samples for culture, so I guess we'll find out tomorrow if there is an infection. He could just have a UTI, which is my suspicion. Or, the nurse said that it could just be "autonomic" - meaning that his nervous system is just freaking out a little bit because of the external shunt and his pressures changing all the time in his head. The external shunt does make him feel a little weird, you can tell. He is really cute and happy, but he has moments throughout the day where he says he feels "sick" or "dizzy," or he gets one of his thirty-second-headaches. :(

Any little glitch and we will be here another couple of days....

Oh man...

Well, Carla made it home safely to Chico this morning, and Seth made it here to the hospital safely. Seth brought me some more mail, and he had a whole bunch of gift cards that Becky collected from people. Things like Starbucks and Subway and stuff. We are so, SO blessed!!!!

James took another long nap this afternoon, and Seth hung out in his hospital room with him while I walked down to an AMAZING bakery that our nurse told us about. Everything there was so good, and it all looked so good that I just wanted to say, "I will take one of everything, please!" Haha! I also got to visit with two different moms at the Family House who are here with their babies long term. They are both participating in studies at UCSF for their babies' conditions. One has skids (not sure if that is spelled correctly), and the other has something I don't remember the name of, but it is neurological, and they are treating him with stem cells! Very interesting stuff!!

Did I mention that I miss Josiah?

Well I do.

I watched the made-for-tv-movie Change of Plans tonight on Fox. Not that good... Had higher expectations.... oh well....

K, I'm going to SLEEEEEP!
