Sorry I didn't blog yesterday. I have been blogging each night after James falls asleep, but last night I got to sleep at the Family House, while daddy did the hospital shift, so I didn't have the computer with me.
James is doing really well. He has had no more fevers since yesterday morning, and he has been feeling great, moving his arms a lot, expressing himself well, and having no headaches or sick feelings!!! Woo-Hoo!! We are on track for surgery tomorrow to internalize the shunt, and I have regained my sanity. YAY!!
Last night I got brave and took the public transportation out to Union Square to meet up with my childhood best friend, Danielle, for dinner. She lives in the Bay Area, and works in SF's financial district, so we met for dinner after she got off of work. She took me to an extremely fancy restaurant, and treated me to a full three course feast! I already forgot the name of the restaurant!! I need to e-mail her and find out what it is called! I felt totally spoiled and very special, and it was a relaxing break from hospital life. It was SO good to catch up with her, too. The last time we saw each other, I think I was in 6th or 7th grade, so it's been a LONG time!
On the way back from dinner, I stopped at the Powell Street station and found the shopping area that the girls and I have stayed near and shopped at in the past. The one with the huge Forever 21, and the multi-story mall, and things. They were all getting ready to close, but I did manage to sneak into the H&M, and bought James a Cookie-Monster shirt, and Josiah a cuuuuute outfit, too! I'm a sucker.
So anyway, now I know how to use the N Judah - which is the bus/train thing I took. And it's cheap and easy! Only cost me $2 each way to ride it. So that's totally worth it. Today Seth is trying it out -- heading out to the mall to find some running clothes so that he can go on runs in the mornings while we're here. I told him how good it is to get out and have a change of scenery for a bit. James and I are just hangin' out. I have been reading him a Roald Dahl chapter book called Fantastic Mr. Fox, and he is actually interested! So that's something new...
That's the latest!
